Work Parties

Traditionally, work parties have been held on the third weekend in the month alternating between Saturdays and Sundays, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Some members find it difficult to attend at the weekends due to other commitments, so it was agreed at the AGM that we would try to incorporate a weekday party.

If you can help in leading future work parties, Pat or Jill would be very pleased to hear from you.

Meet in the car park outside Petersfield Rugby Club, Penns Place at 9:30 am, or find the work party on the Rotherlands site.

Plan of Works

• Working to the Management Plan, we will:
• Control the brambles and scrub;
• Keep the footpath clear throughout the year;
• Restore the riverside meadows;
• Open up the ponds;
• Manage the wet woodlands;
• Create protected areas to provide habitat for water voles and otters;
• Survey and monitor flora and fauna;
• Arrange fund raising activities and apply for grants to cover the cost of specialised work.
