Wren

(Troglodytes troglodytes troglodytes)

The Wren is a resident 9.5cm long. Diet is mainly Spiders, caterpillars and a variety of insects. The hen lays 5 - 12 white with faint red-brown speckled eggs, between April - June. The nest is of moss, wool, grass, leaves and feathers. Constructed into a dome with a hole in the side for entry. Usually found in a wall, bank, stack of wood or a bush.
