Redwing

(Turdis musicus musicus)

The Redwing is a Winter visitor 22cm long. Diet is mainly Worms, grubs, insects, caterpillars also berries. The hen lays 4 - 6 blue-green eggs, with red brown markings between May to July. The nest is a grass cup, on a foundation of twigs and earth, it's built in a tree, bush or on the ground. Sometimes decorated with lichen or moss.
