Nuthatch

(Sitta europea affinis)

The Nuthatch is a resident 14cm long. Diet is mainly Insects nuts, seeds and berries. The hen lays 5 - 8 white eggs with light red spots, between April - June. The nest is of grass, dead leaves and bark. Usually in a hole in a tree trunk. The entrance is filled with mud leaving only enough room for the Nuthatch to pass in and out.
