Long-Tailed Tit

(Aegithalos caudatus rosaceus)

The Long-tailed Tit is a resident 14cm long. Diet is mainly insects. The hen lays 6 - 15 white eggs, speckled with light red in April or May. The nest is in a bush or hedge, made of moss, lichens, spiders webs and wool. It's very domed deep and lined with countless feathers. At night both parents and up to 12 chicks are all squeezed inside.
