Jackdaw

(Corvus monedula)

The Jackdaw is a resident 33cm long. Diet is mainly insects and grubs. The hen lays 3 - 6 blueish spotted with brown eggs in April. The nest is of sticks lined with wool or grass, usually in a colony in ruins in a cave or on cliffs. It will steal bright objects for no apparent reason.
