Great Tit

(Parus major newtoni)

The Great Tit is a resident 14cm long. Diet is mainly Nuts, seeds and insects and fat and scraps. The hen lays 6 - 7 sometimes 12 or more white, spotted with light red eggs in April or May. The nest is in a hole in a wall or tree, made of moss, grass, feathers and hair. Sometimes the nest is even in a letterbox or flowerpot.
