Dunnock

(Prunella modularis occidentalis)

The Dunnock is a resident 14.5cm long. Diet is mainly Caterpillars, spiders, grubs, other insects and beetles. Also in winter, weed seeds. The hen lays 4 or 5 bright turquoise-blue eggs, between March - June. The nest is of wool, moss, hair and grass in a hedge, bush or evergreens.
