Coal Tit

(Parus ater britannicus)

The Coal Tit is a resident 11cm long. Diet is mainly insects also beech mast and seeds. The hen lays 6 to 11 white, spotted with light red eggs, similar to the Blue Tit's in April or May. The nest is of grass, moss, wool or hair, in a wall or stump and even in the ground.
