Canada Goose

(Branta canadensis)

The Canada Goose is large at 90-100cm long, with a distinctive black head and neck and large white throat patch. It was introduced from N America and has successfully spread to cover most of the UK. It can be seen around lakes, gravel pits and town parks all year round. The diet consists of roots, grass, leaves and seeds.
