Blue Tit

(Parus caeruleus obscurus)

The Blue Tit is resident, length 11.5cm. Diet is mainly insects and is useful in destroying aphids, greenfly and many insect pests. It will also eat fat, nuts and scraps if they are hung up for it. The hen lays 7, 8 or more, white eggs spotted with light red between April - May. The nest is of wool, feathers and moss, in a hole in a wall or a tree, also known to like odd places such as street lamps and letterboxes.
