Notes

January - 18 January 2001. The Pheasant was in the grazing meadow, the Fieldfare over the north of Rotherlands and the Jackdaw over the north west of Rotherlands. The Starlings, Mistle Thrushes and most of the Redwings were feeding in the field to the east of the playing fields, but flew up into the Alders at the east end of Rotherlands.
Febuary - 9 Febuary 2001. The Jackdaws were flying over Rotherlands.
March - The survey could not be made because the footpaths were closed due to the outbreak of foot and mouth disease.
April - 30 April 2001. A pair of Mallards flew west along the River Rother. The Kestrel was over east Rotherlands. The Pheasant was a male in the grazing meadow. The Collared Dove was near adjacent gardens.
May - 15 May 2001. The Jackdaw was over the north of Rotherlands, The Greenfinches were near adjacent gardens.
June - 4 June 2001. Both Pheasants were male. The following birds were juveniles: 6 Blue Tits, 2 Carrion Crows, 1 Chaffinch, 14 Great Tits, 1 Grey Wagtail, 2 Jackdaws, 3 Nuthatches, 4 Robins and 7 Starlings.
July - 1 July 2001. A Green Woodpecker chick was also seen - it had fallen out of its nest and was climbing back up the tree.
August - 11 August 2001. The Jackdaws were over the east and north east of Rotherlands. The Rooks flew over from east to north east.
September - 12 September 2001
October - 10 October 2001. The Skylarks and Meadow Pipits were migrants flying over Rotherlands. The Goldcrests were also migrants. The Firecrest was seen by Pat Redhill.
November - 10 November 2001. The Buzzard was over west Rotherlands, and was chased off by 20 Carrion Crows and 12 Jackdaws. The Black-headed Gulls and the Rooks were over south Rotherlands, the Meadow Pipit was over south east Rotherlands, the Fieldfare was over west Rotherlands, the Jackdaws were flying over Rotherlands.
December - 12 December 2001. The Heron and the Skylark were over north Rotherlands.
